Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: By following the Black Pond Bushwack you can avoid crossing Franconia Brook. I did have to hop across Lincoln Brook once, and wade straight into it a second time for want of rocks, but the water wasn't so deep or fast that anyone couldn't do it unassisted.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Minor blowdowns here and there. Follow the Black pond Trail until it dies out, then keep walking. For the first 100 feet or so you will not see a clear trail, but after that it is very apparent and will bring you directly to where Lincoln Brook crosses the Lincoln Brook trail, just upriver from where it joins Franconia Brook. from there it's clear sailing. the people who say the bushwack will save you mileage but not time clearly didn't find this very obvious trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs during the entire hike, but plenty when I camped out at black pond. I guess that's to be expected though.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: What are the chances I would not only find a used band-aid, but the very wrapper that it came from? Some A Hole lost both on the Lincoln Brook Trail.

Comments
Comments: The Owl's Head climb is very steep and full of loose rocks, if you didn't know already or do your homework. It also at times is a running stream, so go slow and be careful.
