Took this trail after a 4.5 hour drive to stretch our legs. We were spending the night night at Joe Dodge Lodge. This was my daughter's (807A) introduction to the White Mountains (to get her away from that Iphone). It was an easy hike but very, very icy near the summit of the ledge and we were glad we had micro spikes! My daughter beat me to the top and I actually heard her say "this is amazing! Cloudy at the top and Mt.Washington was not visible ( I was disappointed!)
After we came down we did a quick easy hike to Lost Pond and back on the AT! I explained to her what the importance of the AT is and a little of the history of the trail. |
