Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of significance.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One 3' diameter trunk across the trail just below Moon Ledge on the Daniels Mountain loop. A few smaller blowdowns as well, all readily passable. Cheers to the folks doing trail maintenance near Bradley Rd!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Readily doggable. Bear Mountain area looks to be porcupine heaven -- smart hikers will keep crittering dogs close.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: Just couldn't bear to be cold today and so drove southwestish instead of north. Expected a crowd given my late start and the grand weather, but arrived to a near-empty parking lot and saw almost no one on trail. Treadway sometimes obscure to the east of Daniels Mountain/Moon Ledge. No worries -- the trails are very well-marked. The map suggested a Bradley Road-adjacent trail, but either it doesn't exist or else I missed it. The roadwalk worked fine and the turns into (or out of, depending on your perspective!) are signed. A nice way to tack a few more miles onto my favorite viewpoint in this little forest.

Also stopped for a quick and as-ever pleasant loop around Chesterfield Gorge.
