We will always recommend snowshoes. There was some post holing but it wasn’t too bad. The 18 hikers we passed on our way back were all bare booting it. They were all headed to the Hut. There was 3-4in fresh snow. Once we got on Carter-Moriah we lost the trail. We tried for 1/4mi but got to a point that we couldn’t find our way. Chose to play it safe. Winds were making temps -9. Still a solid 8mi hike. Our tracks were being quickly covered by wind blown snow. |
