Comments
Comments: The trail was in good shape once you start hitting the steep parts the trail is very rounded and thin from someone sliding down on there butt make its a little tricky with snowshoes had to step one foot in front of the other a lot. the trail was too frozen to try to flatten it out... you can get away without snowshoe the trail is hard enough now but its a little rutted out from bare boots on Sunday so snowshoes were more comfortable. winds were strong out the NW today 30-40 gust to 60 but we were very well protected on this mountain. the trail was full of post holes after the chimney, and the chimney was impassible there is a vertical section of ice half way up that made to dangerous but the workaround trail was fine except that it was post holed to death from the chimney to Mt Osceola :( to the point snowshoes on this where very uncomfortable. I took them off at the top of Mt Osceola. I didn't want to try to go down it with all the holes in made traction very inconsistent and the temp and dropped too much to try to pack it out better. In all great hike and 95% of the trail was just fine.
