At Swope Park off Long Pond Road in Concord. The parking area was not as treacherous as a couple of weeks ago, but still icy. But you can at least drive in and out now. Spikes helpful right from the car. |

Getting in what I can before knee surgery in a couple of weeks. All of these heavily-traveled trails are a combo of frozen granular snow and ice monorail, with some bare patches. The western side of this loop is a little softer from the sunlight. Snowshoes not needed and Thursday and Friday this week will produce a lot of melting around here. Nice views from the outlooks and a quiet afternoon, only seeing two other people with dogs. |
