Comments
Comments: Basin bushwhack is broken out but on return it didn't appear to get much traffic today. Encouraged by yesterday's post I was looking forward to a nice snowshoe track once on the trail and for the most part it was - except for a lone set of bareboot prints mucking up the trail, leaving pot marks several inches in depth. About half way up I passed the offender and the trail became excellent snowshoeing for the rest of the ascent - packed out but still a little soft and unconsolidated. On the last pitch to the summit I passed two who were coming down and had the top to myself although clouds (~50 ft. visibility) and blustery winds made it a short stay. On the way down I probably passed two dozen or so going up - all wearing snowshoes except two who apparently thought it was best to carry theirs on their packs in an effort to mess up the trail. Despite this I'd wager the track ended up pretty nice with all the others packing it down - at least it was for my descent. Snowshoes were really the only option here today.

Some intel on other trails: Flume Slide was not broken this morning but was this afternoon. Liberty Springs Tentsite didn't look like it has seen any visitors in a while. Same for Franconia Ridge Trail heading north at the junction. Have at it.
