Started somewhat late in the morning. Middle Mountain, Peaked Mountain, and Peaked Mountain Connector trails were broken out. I broke out the Black Cap Connector Trail from the junction with the Peaked Mountain Connector to about 3/4 of a mile shy of Black Cap Mountain (my estimate). There is now a good snowshoe packed path to this point. Lots of animal tracks seen on the hike. Good views at times through the open hardwood forest. I set a turn around time so I reversed direction within sight of Black Cap Mountain (been to the top many times so no big deal). The Green Hill preserve has trails that provide a backwoods feel even though it in proximity of North Conway. Saw no hikers until I got returned back to the Peaked Mountain area. |
