Plenty of parking at the East Pond Trail trailhead (South) off of Tripoli Road -- we saw just three cars there, with room for another 6-7 vehicles.

Comments
Comments: We had never done these trails before, and opted to do them today for some quiet while the craziness of leaf season unfolded all around us. We were rewarded -- saw just a few people at the ponds, and pretty much that was it all day. We did an out-and-back from the Kanc, with the Little East Pond Loop, and the short bit of the East Pond Trail to Tripoli Road.

We saw small -- but very nice -- patches of fall color all day, in particular reds/maples.

The section of trails from Tripoli Road are noticeably more worn/used (and eroded in some spots) than those from the Kanc. While the approach from the Kanc is longer, it's well graded, the incline is gradual, and the scenery more interesting, including the section of the Little East Pond Trail beginning at East Pond -- it would make a nice snowshoe route, too.

Driving to/and from the trailhead was a bit busy. Glad we didn't intend to do anything from Lincoln Woods -- the lot was full by 11:00 this morning, with cars parked along the Kanc for about 0.2 miles in either direction. Very busy.
