Trails: Carter Moriah Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Tuesday, September 19, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We parked on Mill Street in the parking lot next to a soccer field and crossed the suspension bridge. We were the 1st car, when we left there were cars everywhere but there was also a soccer game going on so not sure who was there for the hike or the game
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: NONE
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Only thing I would recommend for the Carter Moriah Trail Head, better signage on where to park as it is in the middle of a neighborhood.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw 1 dog. Depending on your dogs agility level and dealing with steep rock slabs it might be best to not bring your dog.
Bugs
Bugs: out and annoying but not biting
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: found a random columbia shirt towards the top (we were the 1st ones to the summit) While I don't like leaving trash I didn't want to hike back with a random sweaty shirt, I left it on the trail. Maybe he was hiking to one of the carters and planned on picking it back up? Either way, pack your trash and your clothes out.

Comments
Comments: The trail was dry, not water creeks or brooks etc. There was a few mud spots towards the top but nothing too crazy. Great hike, steep but manageable. Luckily it wasn't raining or hadn't just rained I don't know how ell I would have been able to climb over those steep rock slabs. The peak was small but the views were amazing. It did get crowded within minutes of us making it to the top. For the most part wasn't an issue unless you wanted some peace and quiet to enjoy the views. Would definitely hike this again
