Comments
Comments: This hike feels like you're kinda sneaking into Canada. :) A camera at the start of the trail keeps tabs on who's coming and going. The climb along the international boundary swath is steep and rough with one small, slippery scramble. The actual surveyed border is marked by occasional brass disks set in concrete. Nice views from the swath of the boundary peaks to the east. Leaving the swath, the trail becomes a footpath for 300 yds. until it meets the loop trail, which goes around the tiny lake, which forms the headwaters for the Connecticut River. Footing on the loop trail is rough with lots of rocks and roots with lots of little ups and downs. A very beautiful spot!
