Mosquitoes at trail head so we DEET-ed up immediately, which kept them at bay. A lot of gnats and small black ants on the summit but not biting. |

Finally got here and oh so glad we did. Spectacular views, esp from the fire tower deck. Its interior was a nice place to get out of the summit winds (which were very light today). Don't be misled by the sign for the ancient, out of use "toilet.
Whomever has room in their pack and can donate a notebook, the one in the fire tower has no more pages left for entries. |
