Comments
Comments: First trip up Mount Washington for me. Pretty straightforward and a steady grade up the Lion Head route. No trail maintenance needed, no mud, and easy to follow. A bunch of people out there though - probably more crowded than the Lafayette-Lincoln loop. Lost most of them going up Lion Head, but met them all at the top of Tuckerman Ravine for the last leg. The top of Mount Washington is simply crazy with the cars, people, and train. Waiting 20 min in line for a summit pic was a surprise. The walk down to the Lake of the Clouds Hut was simple yet crowed. Kids swimming in both lakes took a bit away from the natural beauty of the place but lunch was nice there anyway. The top of Mount Monroe was the trip highlight. A few other hikers here and there, but it was great to get out of the crowds and take in the views. The hike down the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail was fine with only six other folks the whole way. It pretty dry up top and you cross back and forth across the stream easily. Down low, it was wet and somewhat muddy for the last 0.5 mile to the parking lot.

This is it for me for the 2017 season unfortunately. Going to be out for a few after some surgery very soon. Your posts will keep me thinking about spring next year. Hope to see you then, if not before.
