Plenty of room on the shoulder of Rte 116 (Warren, a few miles south of the intersection of Moose-Ravine Lodge intersection) just before large brown White Mountain National Forest sign and opposite the welcome to the Baker River Valley sign. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is no sign marking the forest road number, I pulled it off a map. Road see little to no use. But curiously, I saw a few recent boot tracks, so someone had walked up it recently. |

I kept moving fast so the Black flies wouldn't get me but not fast enough to avoid the company of wood ticks. |

Forest Road 404 (jeep road/driveway to hunt camp), bushwhack
I went up the woods road where a small hunting camp sits at the end just after an old gate has rotted away. Road is in decent shape but it appears no one has driven this probably since last hunting season. From the camp I took a bearing on the summit and went straight at it. At about 1600', I stumbled over a stone bound, red paint, bearing tree sign but it felt like it was rather random since there were no other blazes or bounds to be found anywhere. Summit felt like a summit and I signed into the register. I bet this place has some neat views in the winter but today the leaves were blocking anything there might be to see. Ferns and violets, old bear and moose scat (nothing new), hoping to find a shed but nothing today. Nice to get out for a quick whack. |
