| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The gate at the south end of North South Road was still closed, so a road walk to the east trailhead was required. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
There were some big puddles to work around or through after two days of rain. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No major maintenance is needed at this point. We removed many downed branches as we hiked, and some remain. There are some soggy spots and some accumulated leaves in the trail and drainages. Some brushing up high would be nice, but it's ok the way it is. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
This seems like a fun one traildoggies, and not difficult. We were greeted by several smiling, tail wagging four-legged friends coming and going. |
| Bugs: |
The black flies were out and pestering, but not up to their full potential. Long pants, long sleeved shirts, herbal repellent, and a lot of swatting kept damage to a minimum. |

| Comments: |
This is a nice hike! We did an out and back from the east trailhead. Mt. Moosilauke was wearing a cloud shroud in the morning but it had cleared by early afternoon. |
