| Dog-Related Notes: |
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE DOGS ON FLUME SLIDE TRAIL. I've seen lots of happy dogs this winter but also lots of dogs who should have stayed home. This is not a dog friendly trail and know several other hikers who have left their pups at home for this one:) |

Flume slide trail was so much fun! Definitely a challenge with wet rock in many places but worth every second of it:) I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Read trail description carefully before going up Flume Slide and pay attention to water crossings...we missed a crucial left turn after one because the trail is not marked well and you have to re-cross the water only .1 mile after the previous crossing. Thankfully we figured it out before abandoning ship! There is a very small cairn on the other side of the brook that's hard to see. If you miss it, you end up following a false path to a dead end. After that the trail is clear as can be. The ridge from Flume to Liberty offered amazing views, sunshine, and much needed peace. Only needed spikes for ridge trail and from summit of Liberty to just past the tent sites. Flowers are popping and the green is bursting!! Only ran into 5 other people on Liberty Spring Trail. |
