If this trail was any wetter you'd need a life jacket! And boy was it muddy... But we did get a really heavy squall blow through just before starting out. First signs of snow were at 2800 ft. The monorail was pretty stable, but I did miss the track a couple times and postholed pretty deeply. Ice was minimal and generally avoidable. I bare-booted all the way up, but spikes would have been smart, so I put them on for the descent. I left the snowshoes in the car, which worked out well--there was no opportunity or reason to use them. The rock slabs were pretty slick, but still manageable despite quite wet. |
