Trails had softened up this morning with the rising temperatures. Lower elevation crust had softened up, but still remained up high. Also lots of ice cubes on the upper portion of the trail that dropped off trees. Top to bottom snow cover, but slush is about to break through on Old Mountain Road. Wore snowshoes roundtrip and they will be needed, lest one wants to violate the posthole non proliferation agreement. |
