Comments
Comments: Party of three. Approach via Tripoli Rd on XC skis. Switched to snow shoes at Osceola Trailhead. Trail was untrodden since last Tuesday's snow storm. About six inches of settled, but soft, powder over crusty base. Along some of the more ledgy traverses of steep slopes, powder over ice. The many traverses along the steep slopes were tedious and slow on the way up. Much easier on the way down after the trail we broke had time to consolidate. Because of the slow upward progress, the clock ran out on us and we had to turn around about 20 minutes below the summit. Trail should be in good shape now. Skiing along Tripoli Road was rather disappointing due to iciness.
