Took a group of 20 or so high school kids on a hike up Mt. Pierce. Followed tracks of someone who skinned up the trail on skis until they took a right towards Mizpah. We broke trail the rest of the way through knee deep snow and made it until about the junction of Crawford Path and Webster Cliffs Trail right below the summit of Pierce. Did not make it to actual summit due to low temps, wind, and large drifts on Mt. Pierce. Bring snowshoes! Our broken trail could easily be filled in and I'm sure it will be above treeline. Winter is back for now. |
