About 1 1/2 inches of new snow. Some deeper pockets and drifting at the top of the ravine. Very choppy in some areas from warm weather activity now frozen solid. I wore snow shoes the whole way but probably could have switched to microspikes at times. Had to really pick my way along the traverse before the switchbacks. This is a pretty easy hike but the walk in/out adds 5 miles. A good winter hike because you're in the trees till the summit. |
