Comments
Comments: Was surprised on the way to Mt. Surprise how stable the trail was..used microspikes up and back, with only a few minor holes off trail..a few open muddy/leaf duff spots in open hardwoods low..ledges still had ice and caution needed especially on descent..bypassed a couple and backed down others, though one ledge was bare rock and went right up it..if trail freezes should be ok for traction, kind of rough in spots for those that prefer snowshoes...monorail pronounced in many places and stable, in other spots if off just a little one would sink in..had some views too so a good day overall..
