| Water Crossing Notes: |
Easy to hop over small crossings on Black Pond Trail and Lincoln Brook Trail. When I arrived to the 1st major crossing on the Lincoln Brook Trail the water was high and flowing fast. The water also covered the rocks and the ice/snow bridge was gone. I looked up and down stream but did not see a safe way to cross, so I turned around. About 10 minutes later I met 2 hikers heading to Owl's Head and I told them about my decision not to cross. They said they would check it out and I wished them well. |

| Comments: |
A really nice day with temps from 25 to 45 with sun and clouds and a breeze at times. The snow pack was sturdy enough to hike along with only microspikes. Snowshoes went for a ride today. Saw only 2 hikers but on my return I saw 2 skiers and 2 people walking the Lincoln Woods Trail. When I returned to the Lincoln Woods Trail and hung a left and hiked to the bridge crossing of Franconia Brook and hiked on the Bondcliff Trail for about a mile. I did not get to climb Owl's Head but it was still a nice day to be in the Pemi Wilderness. |
