| Comments: |
More messy trails. Up to the last river crossing was well packed. After that the barebooters had left a mess and with the soft conditions even our snowshoes occasionally broke through. The higher we got the worse it became. Above the loop junction (we took the normal or left turn), a monorail had started and at one point I found myself hip deep with snowshoes on. If you want to posthole to Siberia leave your snowshoes in the car or on your pack. We smoothed the trail as best we could. We were rewarded with a spectacular sunset on the way down. |
