Comments
Comments: 12 - 18 inches of powder. We broke out trail from parking to the road, which was packed by the snowmobiles, then back into trail breaking on Gale River Trail. Nice track now, to within 1/2 mile of the Garfield Ridge Trail, according to our best estimate. Took 7 hours to do 4.7 miles of trail out and back. Hope the bare booters stay off the trail this weekend! We met one fellow who was heading up as we were retreating, he was planning a traverse but not sure where he was going. He should have the trail up to the Garfield Ridge Trail broken out, but which direction from there is anyone's guess. Just a beautiful day in the woods, despite not getting anywhere near our destination!

forgot to mention we started following the old trail, at the old first river crossing. You'll see a big birch on the right with a blue blaze - take the right, don't go straight. We stuck a stick upright in the false trail with a branch pointing to the right so hopefully no one will miss it.
