Comments
Comments: Part of the redlining requirement for the Belknap Patch. We went up the Lakeview Trail, and certainly saw some great views. When we got to the summit there were a couple of signs indicating that the Quarry Trail was closed due to logging operations. We didn't hear anything going on, so we risked descending the Quarry Trail, as it is required on the redlining list, and tracks indicated that the trail had been used by many recently. When we got to the logging area near the base of the mountain, there was no work going on, but work was very recent with a lot of destruction around the trail. I suppose this will start to grow back and create a more diverse habitat. When we got back to the parking lot we noted that there were no signs indicating that the Quarry Trail was closed at that end. I suspect that maybe the logging is done and they took those signs down at the trailhead but no one wanted to walk up and take the signs down at the summit. Another good hike with Lone Wolf.
