Comments
Comments: Well nordic gal finally got me out on xc skis and it made lincoln woods trail fly by. I may have felt weird but the speed was great. In no time we were at the black pond trail. I ditched the skiis here but nordic gal brought them with her and used them most of the time til the bottom of the brutus bushwhack. The trails were in amazing condition as i had spikes on and nordic gal with xc skis. Well we got to the brutus bushwhack and a track went straight but we turned hard right starting the 1600' of elevation up. We had seen another split but kept right. It was a pretty steep grade from there til the ridge. Colby caught up with us as he stayed on the trail when we whacked over from black pond. He dumped his skis here and we all headed up. Took just over an hour and a half to the top. There is a ledge section i read about and we came across it. It wasn't as bad going up but a little sketchy on the way down. There was a great view at that point. We got to the false summit and there were some large drifts and wind at the top. We went along to the peak and saw a white birch with some carving under it. Didn't even notice til we were leaving that the top of the rock cairn wS right under this birch. We headed back the same way we came and it was a lot quicker down. Colby took off on his skis and nordic gal on her xc skis when we were back on the trail. It was a great day! I got back to the xc skis we ditched and we met up with colby back at the lincoln woods trail. We all headed out which we saw many people walking, snowshoeing and xc skiing on lincoln woods. We got out in about 40 minutes with the small downhill. It was an awesome day and the trail/whacks are in great condition. Great crew!
