First one in so broke trail all the way from main road. Up high (last 3/4 mile seemed to be a foot of new snow. I also remembered why so many folks go up old Fire Wardens Trail. The birch traverse was horrible. Took a long time. Saw two sets of folks on way down using snowshoes so a great path. But alas, soon came to one couple post holing in that foot of snow. One of them had no snowshoes. The trail was now a mess. The only good thing was the birch traverse was now easier. I did mention to them that snowshoes are a whole lot easier with the conditions. |
