Comments
Comments: Mixed bag on conditions. Most hikers had boots n microspikes. A few had snowshoes. I tried both and stayed with spikes. Trail is packed hard with loose snow on top but if you step a few inches off the established trail you posthole past your knee. Packed powder most of the way - sticky up past Surprise - ice underneath and/or slush due to warm temps. Lots of opportunities for butt sliding. Intentional or not!
