Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking lot = ice, but at least it's flat
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two or three small crossings that required an extra couple minutes and one slightly more tricky one. Biggest risk probably would have been wet feet. Poles helpful. The brooks are very much open and running.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Seemed to be in very good shape. Thank you, trail maintainers.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not currently good for dogs. Dogs would post hole badly on this right now.
Bugs
Bugs: :)
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost the royal blue leash off my ice axe on the upper/steep section of the Passaconaway Cutoff. Please let me know if you find it.

Comments
Comments: The trail is in very good shape with limited postholes and a decent firm packed base. Started out on snowshoes but eventually ventured into microspikes and they stayed on for the remained of the day. If you step off the packed monorail, you will indeed posthole deeply so one does have to be careful so as not to screw up the trail. Ice axe or pole/poles recommended. Turnaround time was reached just before the last junction before the summit.
