Comments
Comments: Trail was well packed, but narrow and edged with deep (2-4') postholes frequently. Wore Kahtoola microspikes all day and were fine. Easy to break through up to one knee when scooting over to let others by, but nothing big. A few places (~ 20 yards) were really trashed with postholes: on WRT just past Tom, and Avalon just down from Field. A few small patches of ice easily avoided. Some hikers had snow shoes on to bridge over post holes, but since packed down part of trail was narrow, they often chose to parallel alongside it.
