Comments
Comments: The Mt. Kinsman Trail was a bit icy (easily avoided) for about the first mile. From there it was consolidated snow up to about the Bald Peak junction. Microspikes (light traction) were perfect. Snow was less packed up to KRT but still fine for light traction. The trough was not wide enough for snowshoes until the last pitch to KRT. KRT is in great shape. No ice domes even in the traditionally bad spots. Light traction or snowshoes here (personal choice), though if you are a "heavy" stepper the snow shoes are a better choice. Step off trail and the snow is deep. Great, cold hike with Karen, Beth and Sandy.
