Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, January 2, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: York Pond Rd is plowed but not sanded past FR15 (about half way to the hatchery). I met a group of three that turned back just short of Bunnell Rock due to concerns about the gate being closed when they got down. Apparently they didn't notice that it was partially covered by the snowbank.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easy and required nothing more than a step over some running water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a couple leaners here and there plus two large leaners between the cabin and the summit.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Another easy winter hike for Marlie. A well packed trail and mild temps were favorable today.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I found a 3/4 full bottle of Lagavulin 16 scotch between the Mt Cabot Tr and Bunnell Rock. It was opened and since it belonged to no one on the mountain that day I sadly packed out the glass and left the contents behind.

Comments
Comments: Nice easy hike up and back to Mt Cabot. There did not appear to be any recent activity up York Pond Tr or south of Bunnell Notch along the Kilkenney Ridge Tr towards Terrace Mtn. There was one old set of snow shoe tracks on the Mt Cabot Tr. Kilkenney Ridge Tr north of Mt Cabot was broken out and I caught word of a group doing the loop counterclockwise.
