Comments
Comments: Tough day on the trail, when, much to my dismay, I was the only one going for Madison. I thought there was a bare booster ahead of me, but as I gained elevation, I realized they must be old. Ended up with the snow shoes right from the parking lot. No other trails along the way were broken out. I managed to break up to 4,000', just below the tentsite. It was there that I got my second glimpse of the summit. It was an absolute white out, blizzard, or is that a squall!? Anyhow, breaking three miles of trail and faced with the exposure and wind, I decided to call it a day and head down safely. It'll be there another day for me to summit. I'd preach about bare boosters, but I have a feeling they don't read these forums.
