Found a lost microspike coming down the Imp - didn't look like anyone had hiked there in a while so we turned it in at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. |

Easy hike up the 19-Mile Brook, Carter Dome and Carter-Moriah trails. Some icy sections on the 19-Mile but nothing we couldn't handle with light traction. A clear day with some great views from along the Carter-Moriah Ridgeline. Once we got north of Middle Carter the trail was pretty drifted over -- looked like there hadn't been traffic in a few days. We needed snowshoes down North Carter Tr and some of the Imp Trails. There was lightly flowing water on parts of the Imp Trail as well as ice lower down the trail. We cut off the Imp early to bushwack through to Camp Dodge and walk back up the road to where we'd parked at the 19-Mile trailhead. The loop took us about 6h30 so we were off trail much earlier than expected. |
