Comments
Comments: Just a fantastic fall day to be in the Whites! We took the Signal Ridge Trail up and down. Some mud/muck about 1/2 mile in, expect to get sucked in if you miss a dry spot to hop. Otherwise, trail mostly dry, one stream crossing uneventful, easy rock hop. Some snow on the exposed approach ridge, packed monorail, we wore gators the whole day, they were unnecessary gear. No spikes or crampons either. Summit was clear, miles and miles of views in all directions. Fire tower in good shape, looks like recent renovation was done. I had not done this peak in 15 years or so, forgot how steadily steep that last 2.5 miles were, the payoff well worth the effort! Thanks to Chris for a great day and always a laugh a minute!
