Comments
Comments: A late fall cleanup on the Mt. Tremont Trail today. I did some brushing on the way up, and cleared seven blowdowns on the way down. Four large blowdowns remain, which will require a chainsaw crew, and which have been reported to the USFS. None of them significantly impede travel, however. The trail needs new blazing, which won't happen until next year. Long stretches of the trail don't have any, and others alternate between yellow and the ancient blue ones.

Lots of leaves down on the lower half of the trail, but still a bit of color. On the switchbacks, leaves are mostly down, providing views not seen at other times of the year. Mostly dry trail down lower, with about a half inch of snow on the upper switchbacks. The summit ledges are dry as they face the sun. I carried light traction, but didn't use it. Some may feel more comfortable putting it on to descend the extra steep sections below the summit.
