The snomo access begins on a sharp right beyond an orange gate after the bridge on Marble Road a short walk from the parking area. After maybe .25 mile and beyond a junction bear right then at a crest - maybe another .25 mile - look for a small cairn with four semi-blazed white trees on the left. In the woods you will see a red blaze identifying the trail. The blazes appear with decreasing frequency as you ascend but there some cairns to help along the way. For the most part the trail corridor is obvious if you take a look around though with the leaves down it may be a bit less so. The trail is somewhat eroded in places especially on a side slope a short way in. With the rain and leaves there were many prime places to slip so attention to footing is needed - I found poles to be helpful.
Drizzle and light rain accompanied me for this one so otherwise nice views were non-existent however red scrub against grey skies and slabs at the top really popped and made for a few nice pics. The entire summit area was very fun to poke around and explore. Not surprisingly I didn't see anyone else on this short hike. |
