Comments
Comments: heading up we picked up the mountains sub ridge running southeast. some steep sections of woods and small cliffs up to the ridgeline. woods were open though footing fairly rough. on the ridge there was occasional scrappy going up to the nh/me state line at boundary monument 104. leaves are mostly off the trees which made for great sight lines, but trickier footing. from the monument the woods just kept getting nicer up to the summit with more short steep pitches. the highpoint is recognized (could use a new jar and we forgot to bring one) and with leaves off the trees there are great views to aziscohos shortly below the highpoint to the east. heading down we stayed more to the north favoring the drainage and found generally better woods with fewer small cliffs and steep pitches to navigate. lower down we opted to follow one of a number of good looking old woods roads down into the drainage then left it to continue back out to the road just north of where we parked. this was a real nice one.
