Terrific day going BACK to Lost Pass (from the Flat Mountain Pond Side) and poking around the old logging camps. My plan was originally to visit Whiteface and loop over it, but, I spent too much time in the woods poking around old topo map objectives until I hit my 2pm turnaround time. I jogged the flats and most of the exit. I also took a random skidder road along a random stream and found a big pile of old sled runners and a neat horseshoe sticking out of the ground. Also, random assortment of neat stuff. Pretty sure the stone-lined pit at Hedgehog Camp is a cellar hole. 17 miles and most of them in total solitude except for a very large moose :) |
