Comments
Comments: the trail portion of the hike was a roadwalk up nye road then onto an older piece of road that connects to center pond road. the going was generally dry with some damp areas. after the trail crossed some powerlines i walked a few more minutes noting burnt woods on both sides of the road. at a likely spot i took a line on melville and left the trail in open and partially burnt woods. outside the burnt area there was more undergrowth and leaves, but still open to the summit area where the woods became more coniferous. the high point is recognized and has an old cairn on top. i descended on roughly the same route back to the trail and out.
