Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We spotted a car at the Pitcher Mountain parking area and then drove up to Washington and parked in front of the church along King Road, designated on the 2010 MSG map as an official parking area. DO NOT PARK HERE. Upon our return, we learned that the church has a parking area for hikers, just before you reach the church. If you are starting from your hike from here, this is where to park.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems. Fox Brook was barely running. The water source at Fox Brook Campsite was mostly dry.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, saw a couple on Hubbard.
Bugs
Bugs: Not really. I did find one tick on me though. There are a lot of grassy sections along this route.

Comments
Comments: It was a great day to hike a section of the MSG, from the church in Washington down to Pitcher. From the church, we walked King Road to Jeffs Road, which is a butt-ugly logging road blasted through the woods. :( Fortunately, that walk is short, as you then turn into the Andorra Forest on the MSG proper. This section of the greenway is absolutely beautiful, with lovely woods, great footing and gentle grades as it rolls over the three peaks. We started feasting on ripe blueberries on Jackson, and really cleaned up on Hubbard. :) We also enjoyed a nice snack break at Fox Brook Campsite while perusing the guest logs. Skies darkened on Hubbard, and we got slammed by a thunderstorm while crossing over Pitcher. From the tower, it was a quick cruise down to our spotted car. I definitely enjoyed this section of the MSG, and will be back to hike more of it.
