Comments
Comments: Well too the nancy pond trail til you cross the nancy brook. Once you do that, instead of turning left to stay on the trail look straight and to the right. There may still be a 3 little rock cairn and a downed birch tree. this looks like a trail and it is. You will pass a sign that says do not clear this abandoned trail or you will be fined or put in prison for it. Once we got to the sub peak there happened to be more blowdowns going around the peak. There are a few times that you will be unsure to go-make sure to follow your feet and also the trail does not go through spruce!!!! After this we hit an open area with 36 degree views-the bushes have grown in and were very pricky on our legs. The trail was pretty well defined after this. Where there were a lot of blowdowns, you either have to go under, around or over them. We made it to the destroyed fire tower and realized that it was not exactly the top yet. So we full on bushwhacked to the peak only about 300 feet away from it was pricky. Once we found the pickle jar and canteen we signed it. The page says the actual summit is still 15 feet due west of the cannister and please move it (my gps told me to walk 15 feet west too). So we stood on the actual high point and did not move the cannister becasue we had nothingn to tie it up with. After that we followed our way back out!
