Comments
Comments: from the parking we took an adjacent gated road heading south to start. this was very grassy and overgrown and eventually became fairly wet. walking up daniel doan to a couple gates then cutting in could avoid the worst of it. the woods road became more of a trail and herd path and we soon bushwhacked up to the north ridge of mousley. great going on the ridge all the way. lots of fern laden woods with hardwood becoming evergreen the last couple hundred vertical. numerous ledges up around the summit area with some nice east facing ledge views to cube and smarts. the recognized highpoint is west/northwest of the views on a raised ledgy area. there are old survey marks in the rock and a hole for a benchmark.

from the summit we headed down to the col with stonehouse finding mostly good going in open woods. some logging regrowth near the col that can be avoided by staying to the west. the climb up stonehouse was nice with loads of animal paths up to its broad summit plateau. near the highpoint we hit what felt like a bit more than a herd path and we were soon at the summit which had a nice sign and a trail heading down the opposite side. best guess is the trail originates on stonehouse mountain road or 3 cellars lane. as our vehicle was on the opposite side we headed the other way on the narrow trail/herd path finding signs of old maintenance, but after a few minutes it pretty much disappeared and we bushwhacked down towards mason pond with generally good going. we skirted some nasty looking logging regrowth and down near the pond ran into some nice woods roads which wound around the end of mousleys north ridge and back to where we started up from daniel doan trailhead.
