|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Only a few blow downs on the snowmobile trail, minor. Too bad deep ruts cut by water running down trail nearing height of the land just below Braley Hill--a water bar would really help here. |

Following Rocket21 & bryan's recommendation of taking the snowmobile trail that crosses Washburn Road just east of the 4 Corners; The Snowmobile trail beginning on south side of Washburn Road "to Alexandria Village"--sign hidden on tree on right side of trail while directional arrows are on the left side of the trail at the entrance and using the wind work road to the summit made it more of an over-grown trail hike than a bushwhack today. I thought it was easy to find my way to Tinkham's summit. The trees have grown up so tall around the cleared barren summit where there was once a test tower for wind farms that there is no vista. While descending I did notice a nice obstructed view of Cardigan. I wandered over all the bare ledge faces guessing which one was the highest point in Danbury, NH. Noticed cut off anchors from the former test tower in some of the ledge. Nice walk, less than five miles round trip. Nice views heading south on Grafton Road and again across Grants Pond, pretty area. |
