Comments
Comments: Perfect weather for the last of the 48 (not exactly an urgent pursuit, I think the first was about 48 years ago in my mid 20's). Took the Black Pond bushwhack to save distance, avoid a couple of larger crossings, and, well, more of an adventure. Got the herd path on it for maybe half the distance each way. Rest was just going due (Magnetic) north/south, easier than I expected. Slide was a pain in the butt, both directions, took it carefully, not a good place to get hurt. Would have loved to return via a bushwhack down the east side of OH, but was by myself and that would have been way too much risk. As it was, was careful on the BP bushwhack, also not a good place to get hurt. Great trip, just under 7 hours round trip. Saw a few folks out, a couple of dogs, all friendly. And an excellent choice to save this one for the last of the 48.
