| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Small pullover along Rt. 16, but also probably not busy. I was the only car. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing near the parking lot is a true ford as the WMG suggests. No stepping stones. The flow was slow and shallow, and not awfully cold, it actually felt kind of nice. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Probably great for them. |
|
| Bugs: |
A few black flies on the way out as I forded the stream. Annoying timing as always... |

| Comments: |
My final red-lining hike of the day. The falls themselves are right near 1300' elevation as the map suggests, but the "unmarked path" to them is rather hard to notice, and personally I was underwhelmed by the falls. I actually went all the way up to 1500' (the ski trail this trail follows continues for 1mi+ according to the WMG), before accepting I had indeed passed the falls. On the way back I did find the side paths mentioned, but I didn't feel the views of the falls were all that great. Maybe I missed another path with better views, or maybe that is all there is? |
