This was a great loop. Trails were not too muddy. Valley view had a few wet/slippery spots, but was mainly dry. This trail would be hard if wet or icy. It is a nice discrete footbed, but is well-blazed; same goes for the route to Swett. I liked this route to Piper better than the Whiteface trail route. The views from Belknap was extraordinary. I did go down the herd path the the plan crash, which I had not visited in years. It is marked with tape and is at the very top of the Blue trail |
