Comments
Comments: Waited until midmorning to begin hiking in order for a.m. showers and drizzle to abate.

Barebooted from parking lot to summit, then back to Rocky Branch Trail. Put spikes on at that point and wore them downhill the next ~1.5 miles until icier sections mostly disappeared. We picked a nice line across the Engine Hill BW, partly following old tracks but diverging from them when they climbed/zigged/zagged needlessly. The little "moose bog" section was wet and spongy but easy enough to skirt. Birch glades spectacular as ever! Blustery and wintry on summit w/limited views this day.

Nice day walking in the woods. Weather was better than expected! Thanks F, C, P, and M!
