Comments
Comments: After seeing several several reports of blow downs on the MKT the previous two days, changed hiking plans and headed up that way. I hadn't planned to start trail work there until April, absent any reports of blow downs. Those reports are definitely appreciated by trail maintainers. I took a 17 inch Fanno saw and it took care of all but one at the USFS boundary for which a small rock bar was used. Had time left over to tag both peaks. Trail conditions are good with sharp traction, definitely icy, but may change after tonight's storm. Used Hillsounds from the first water crossing back to about 3/10s above the USFS boundary. S. Kinsman was in the clouds but the sun came out as I returned to N. Kinsman. Great day to be out.
